SummerHill Homes takes great pride in delighting its homebuyers with every house it builds. The professional and courtesy construction teams at each community are well-trained and knowledgeable on the latest materials and construction techniques. And SummerHill follows a rigorous selection process for subcontractors to ensure the very best trades are working in your home.

To help you understand the construction process, the following is an overview of the steps involved in building a new home.

This includes room replacement and other options that impact the foundation.

Many items need to be completed before a foundation can be poured such as setting footings, laying steel rebar, and running rough plumbing.

During this portion of construction the walls, floors, and roof start to take shape. This is an exciting time in the construction of your home.

This includes cabinets, appliances, fixtures, and electrical.

The exterior doors and windows will be installed as well as roofing and siding materials. At this point, the exterior of the house will look like a home.

Electrical, copper and other plumbing pipes; as well as heating ducts are run and installed.

Review placement of wiring options selected, verify any framing changes ordered, and a member of the SummerHill team will answer any questions you may have concerning your home at this stage of construction.

This includes your choice of flooring and countertops.

Now the inside of the home will start taking shape with the addition of insulation and drywall.

Once the "walls" are in, the cabinets, countertops, and appliances will start being installed. Don't be surprised if construction seems to slow down at this point – it hasn't.

This walk will occur just before carpet installation. It offers the opportunity to review all installed option items you selected.

The walls are painted and flooring installed. At this point, your home is inaccessible.

Trees, shrubs, and grass are planted. The home is almost complete!

The purpose of the New Home Orientation Tour is to explain the various aspects of your new home as well as review the warranty service procedure.
