Homebuying Checklist
Buying a new home can be daunting, but with a little planning and guidance, you can move towards the emotional and financial rewards ahead. Following are key considerations when searching for your new home.

Assess individual and family needs to figure out what size home your family requires. Consider the number of bedrooms and bathrooms you will need, the size of your kitchen, and whether you will need areas such as a den, a formal dining room, or a study. Also, consider if you have any family milestones occurring in the future, such as the addition of a new baby or extended family coming to live with you.

Make sure that the services important to your quality of life are nearby: cultural and recreational facilities, public transit, shopping, schools, medical and dental centers, or religious services. The neighborhood surrounding you is very important to your quality of life.

Estimate the cost of ongoing home ownership expenses and ensure you can make ends meet, while keeping a little left over for the unexpected. Consider your mortgage payments, property taxes, utilities payments, repairs and maintenance, insurance, and home upkeep expenses.
