An article in Fortune Magazine recently, Green Myths Debunked<\/a>, talked\u00c2\u00a0about everything from bottled water (tap water is safer) to CFLs (make the switch from incandescent today!) to Christmas trees (yes it is better to have a real one than a fake one) and many more. \u00c2\u00a0This got me thinking about our own communities and what really matters about green.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of talk about green in homebuilding. \u00c2\u00a0We are proud to have had high standards in our homes that were initiated with sustainability in mind long before sustainability was trendy. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Satake Estates in Mountain View<\/a>, where we have solar power from PetersenDean<\/a>, has had a $5 electric bill! \u00c2\u00a0Amazing on a home that is over 2,000 square feet!<\/p>\n

Plus Satake Estates has rain gardens, which filter off the rainwater from the home and roof. \u00c2\u00a0Then puts the soil back into the land. \u00c2\u00a0The water, which has been filterered\u00c2\u00a0through the rain garden, is taken out to the storm drain. \u00c2\u00a0 Homebuyers and our sales team have been impressed by how quickly it processes the water for no build-up.<\/p>\n
