Using the same rag<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re using the same rag to clean around the house, we hate to break it to you but you\u2019re not actually cleaning anything. Even if you\u2019re spraying the cleaning solution on it, you\u2019re simply wiping the germs, dirt, grime, and grease from surface to surface. Instead, use a new cloth or sponge for each surface or area of your home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washing your windows on a sunny day<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A warm, sunny day may seem like a good time to wash the\nwindows but it isn\u2019t. The warmth of the sun causes the cleaning solution to\nevaporate more quickly, resulting in unsightly streaks and sunspots before\nyou\u2019re able to rinse and dry the windows. Wait for an overcast day to clean to\nwindows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s okay to spray cleaning solutions directly onto an extremely dirty surface that needs a little extra help, but doing so on a regular basis is less than ideal. Spraying cleaning solution directly on to a surface creates a layer of build-up that can be difficult to remove. You\u2019ll also use more than you need. Instead, spray the solution on your cleaning rag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cleaning from the ground up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Think about your regular cleaning routine: when do you\nusually clean the floors? If you\u2019re not ending with them, then you\u2019re making\nmore work for yourself. Instead, clean a room from the top down, ending with\nthe floors. That way you\u2019ll sweep up any dirt or dust that may fall from the\nhigher locations when you finally clean the floors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not cleaning your tools<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, and vacuums\nare designed to clean things, but when was the last time you cleaned them? Don\u2019t\noverlook these workhorses! Save yourself some time from having to redo chores\n(especially laundry. Once is enough) because things aren\u2019t coming out as clean\nas they should by regularly maintaining and cleaning your machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is possibly the biggest mistake many of us make. We\u2019re\nall busy and it\u2019s tempting to save the cleaning for another day but then we\u2019re\ncursing ourselves when it\u2019s time to finally clean. Instead of spending the\nentire weekend in a cleaning frenzy, try to clean a little bit every day. That\nway, by the time the weekend rolls around, you\u2019ll have more time to enjoy fun\nactivities instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
