Maybe you\u2019re welcoming a new baby or your kid is ready for a change in their bedroom. It\u2019s time to break out the paint swatches and find a new color scheme!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We spend a lot of time selecting a theme and the\naccompanying details but don\u2019t spend too much time thinking about the right\ncolors to go on the wall. Choosing the right color for your child\u2019s room\ndeserves careful consideration as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What each color means<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A color\u2019s tone is just as important as the color itself.\nWhile cooler tones like blues and greens are often considered peaceful colors,\nthey can tip towards depressing in a darker tone. Here are some common\nassociations each color has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Red: <\/strong>Red is a bold, attention-grabbing color. It can\nexcite and energize the mind and body, often sparking creativity, passion, and\nconfidence. However, it\u2019s also associated with an inability to focus and\nsometimes aggression. It\u2019s best to use this color sparingly in your child\u2019s\nroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pink: <\/strong>Pink is in the red family, but the lighter tone\nmakes it more calming. It also encourages feelings of empathy and nurturing.\nIt\u2019s important to know that people start to tire of this color more quickly\nthan others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yellow: <\/strong>Yellow can be a bit of a mixed bag. While\nit\u2019s a bright and happy color that encourages motivation, focus, and improved\nmemory, it can be a bit overstimulating. The constant feeling of \u2018daytime\u2019 can\nmake it difficult to relax at night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Orange: <\/strong>Another of the warm tones, oranges pull from\nthe positives of yellows and reds. This color is friendly, cheerful, and often\nputs kids at ease. Orange is known to encourage communication and\nsocialization. This could be a great color for a playroom since it fosters\nfeelings of cooperation, extroversion, and confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Blue: <\/strong>The soothing effects of blue are well-known. That\u2019s why it\u2019s a common color for bedrooms and bathrooms. They evoke a spa-like environment where you can relax. Blues are considered exact opposites of reds; they can decrease blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration, minimize feelings of anxiety and nervousness and suppress appetite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Green: <\/strong>Green symbolizes nature and provides a\nsoothing and relaxing sensation. This color is popular in classrooms because it\ncan increase reading comprehension and speed. If your child will be doing most\nof their schoolwork in their bedroom, green is a good color to consider!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Purple: <\/strong>Purple is a regal, sophisticated color that\nencourages creativity, thoughtfulness, and sensitivity. You may want to limit\nthe amount of purple in a room if your child is especially sensitive.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hopefully, your decorating plans haven\u2019t changed too much. It\u2019s important to know that while scientists have uncovered a lot about how color affects our moods, these generalizations are not hard and fast rules! You don\u2019t have to paint your kid\u2019s room just one color.
