{"id":529,"date":"2009-09-25T13:40:07","date_gmt":"2009-09-25T20:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.summerhillhomes.com\/?p=529"},"modified":"2024-05-20T16:17:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T23:17:46","slug":"spring-cleaning-before-the-fall-holidays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.summerhillhomes.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/25\/spring-cleaning-before-the-fall-holidays\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Cleaning before the Fall Holidays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Okay, so we never did get around to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spring_(season)\">Spring <\/a>cleaning, so we figured better late than never especially before holiday decorations go up.<\/p>\n<p>Last week I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Clean-a-Clothes-Dryer-Vent\">cleaned the dryer vent<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c boy what a difference in how fast our clothes dry.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what they are saying when they say keep your dryer vent clean to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/index.cfm?c=clotheswash.clothes_washers_performance_tips\">maximize energy efficiency<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 You can also get your dryer vent cleaned by a professional when you have your heating ducts cleaned.<\/p>\n<p>Then we tackled cleaning our two balconies together (one before the start of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/\">Sunday football<\/a> and the other at half-time, sadly neither of our teams won).\u00c2\u00a0 We moved all of our plants and BBQ onto a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rei.com\/product\/357016\">camping tarp<\/a> that we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d put down to protect our carpet.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we used a great deck brush and Simple Green we picked up at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.com\/\">Home Depot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And, now the decks look really good.\u00c2\u00a0 Plus, we even <a href=\"https:\/\/bbq.about.com\/cs\/cookingtips\/a\/aa051201a.htm\">cleaned out the bottom of the BBQ<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c yup, you need to do that regularly too.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few tougher stains still on the deck from past BBQ grime, which we still need to figure out how to remove.\u00c2\u00a0 Lesson learned, easier to clean earlier than later.<\/p>\n<p>Next up the back corner of our garage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okay, so we never did get around to Spring cleaning, so we figured better late than never especially before holiday decorations go up.
