The Holidays and Property Taxes

If you are a new homeowner, you are probably becoming familiar with the news that the due date for property taxes like the holidays arrive in December.

In our sales meeting on Monday, someone from our team shared that they were going to drive to the city to personally deliver their taxes when I shared the news that you can pay your taxes online.  Since even our sales team didn’t know about this great option, I thought it was certainly worth sharing with you!

This is a simple way to further your Green efforts  and save time.  Be sure to allow enough time for the payment to process.

Counties offer options to pay by e-check or credit card.  Some counties do not charge a fee when you pay with an e-check, however there is always extra fee from credit card companies that the counties pass onto property owners.  See below for more information

Here are the local websites for the tax assessors in our areas:San Mateo County Tax Collector (no fee e-checks, 2.5% fee for credit cards)

Santa Clara County Tax Collector ($15 to $27 charge for e-checks, 2.5% fee for credit cards)

Alameda County Tax Collector ($3 fee for e-checks, 2.5% fee for credit cards)

Contra Costa County Tax Collector (no fee for e-checks, $3.95 fee for debit cards, 2.3% fee for credit cards)

Hope you find this information helpful!
