Fourth of July Celebration in New Home Community

The Fourth of July is right around the corner and the Bay Area is full of fun, family-friendly events to celebrate. From parades, concerts and of course, fireworks, there are plenty of activities available for everyone!

Moraga (East Bay)

Near our Harvest Court community in Moraga, residents can celebrate Independence Day at the July 4th at the Commons at Moraga Commons Park (1425 St. Mary’s Road). This all-day event starts with a fun run/walk (including a Kiddie Run, 2-mile and 5-mile distances), a pancake breakfast, dog parade, children’s bike parade, magic show, old-fashioned kids games, inflatables (jumpies!), food, wine & beer booths, a free concert with The Floorshakers, and of course, ending with a bang with fireworks!

In nearby Orinda, you can celebrate with the Orinda community with Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary Pancake Breakfast at the Orinda Community Center Plaza fro 7:30-10am, flag raising ceremony, Haley’s Run for a Reason fundraising 2-mile run/walk or 5-mile run, Friends of the Orinda Library Book Sale, parade, Community Booths and Kids activities at Orinda Park, including food and beverage booths, live music, classic car show, and petting zoo and other children’s activities. Los Gatos/Sunnyvale (South Bay)

There are also plenty of fun events in the South Bay near our Arques Place (Sunnyvale) and Sorellas (Los Gatos) communities.

In Cupertino, the festivities begin at 7AM at Memorial Park (10185 N Stelling Road) with a Pancake Breakfast hosted by the De Anza Optimist Club of Cupertino at Quinlan Community Center, followed by a flag-raising, children’s parade, live music and a children’s carnival. Then the fun continues at Blackberry Farm for free swimming (from 10am – 4pm), and food trucks. Visit Cupertino.org for more information.

In nearby Santa Clara, celebrate the holiday at the 4th of July All-City Picnic & Fireworks Extravaganza at Central Park (909 Kiely Blvd). Starting at 12 noon, relax and enjoy live entertainment, carnival games, face painting, jump houses, kids crafts dancing, free public swimming, food booths and food trucks. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs or blankets to watch the fireworks show in the evening.

Finally, if you find yourself in San Jose, you can enjoy the Rose, White & Blue Parade starting at 10AM on Dana Avenue to University Avenue to The Alameda picnic site. There will also be live music, arts and crafts booths, antique cars and a picnic on the Alameda.

The July Fourth Fun Festival at Almaden Lake Park (6099 Winfield Boulevard) is a fun family-friendly event. Enjoy live entertainment from the Snarky Cats Band, School of Rock, Pete the Magician and Lyric Theater, food trucks, a kids’ parade and costume contest, and fireworks.

The Rotary Centennial Fireworks at Discovery Meadows (180 Woz Way) offers a free, family-friendly event with a Symphony Summer Pops concert at 5:30PM and the fireworks show at approximately 9:30PM.
